Amanda Thornton, FNP

Amanda Thornton, FNP, was born and raised in Germantown, Tennessee. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Memphis as well as a Master of Science in Nursing-Family Nurse Practitioner from the University of Memphis.  Amanda was inducted into Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing and Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society in the University of Memphis Chapter. Amanda graduated summa cum laude from her MSN graduate program and is a member of American Association of Nurse Practitioners.

As a registered nurse, she worked in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) at Methodist Germantown Hospital for 7 years and worked in pediatric otolaryngology for 1 year at Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital. 

Amanda joined Gastro One in 2020 and  treats many aspects of GI health including GERD, liver/gallbladder disease, IBS, diarrhea, constipation, GI bleeding, and more.

Amanda lives in Memphis with her husband Will and dog Gryffin. They are members of Highpoint Church and love serving there in different areas, especially the financial peace ministry. She enjoys going to the park with their dog, reading, women’s Bible studies, and spending time with her husband, family, and friends.
