Richard Christian, DNP, NP-C is a Nurse Practitioner at Gastro One in Southaven, MS. He earned a Doctorate in Nursing Practice in 2020 from Union University located in Jackson, TN. While at Union he was inducted into Sigma Theta Tau honors society. He also conducted research which examined how Nurse Practitioners contribute to the diagnosis and management of Hepatitis C virus. His findings were submitted for publication to the Journal for Nurse Practitioners. Richard is board certified in family practice by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and is also a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.

Richard began his nursing career in 2011 as a vocational nurse. After becoming a Registered Nurse in 2013 he worked in the Trauma Intensive Care Unit, Emergency Department, and Gastro One’s Ambulatory Surgery Center in Germantown, TN. After graduating from Union University, he worked in urgent care before joining Gastro One in 2023. He is a member of the Gastroenterology & Hepatology Advanced Practice Providers society.

Richard enjoys spending family time with his wife Sarah and two children, Catherine and Michael. He has two Corgis, a Welsh Pembroke and Cardigan named Ringo and Finn. He grew up hunting, fishing, and playing baseball. He is an avid scuba diver and prefers diving in the Caribbean for its warmer waters.
