Patience Waddell, DNP, FNP-C, is a Family Nurse Practitioner dedicated to providing compassionate, comprehensive care for patients with digestive health conditions. She earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center and brings more than a decade of nursing and advanced practice experience to Gastro One.
Before joining Gastro One, Patience cared for patients at Regional One Health Gastroenterology, where she managed a wide range of gastrointestinal conditions, including GERD, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), gastroparesis, chronic pancreatitis, liver disease, and pancreatic disorders. She also coordinated endoscopic procedures and provided follow-up care for patients with complex digestive health needs.
Prior to specializing in gastroenterology, Patience practiced in urgent care and spent many years as an emergency department nurse, caring for patients in high-acuity settings throughout the Memphis area. Her diverse clinical background allows her to provide thoughtful, evidence-based care while helping patients navigate both routine and complex gastrointestinal concerns.
Known for her compassionate approach and strong commitment to patient education, Patience believes in partnering with patients to develop personalized treatment plans that support long-term digestive health and overall well-being. Outside of patient care, Patience is committed to lifelong learning and professional development. She is an active member of several nursing organizations, is conversational in Spanish, and enjoys serving her community through volunteer opportunities.
